Last weekend the 2010 Rarities of the World stamp Auction (Sales 989) by Robert Siegel in the US once again gave proof to the world that the demand for stamps (especially rare ones) is higher than it has ever been in recent years despite the World Financial Crisis
A superb quality example of the 2 cents Inverted Jenny was being auctioned with a list price of $55,000 US

It was a magnificent copy due to its beautifully centering with perfect margins, bright colors and clear impressions of vignette and frame. The item in question completely surpassed everyone’s expectation and despite the listing price of $55,000 US sold for the impressive amount of $105,000 US

US $45,000 (Cat value) very rare stamp on Auction

​

Regency Auctions from Beverly Hills, California in the USA are auctioning a very RARE special printing stamp, missing from even the most advanced collections from the US. The stamp in question is the US number 202, 1880 SPECIAL PRINTING OF 1879 PERRY 90¢ DULL CARMINE
The auction house describes the stamps as follows; deep rich luxuriant color. Sound, unused no gum as issued, fine example of this valuable stamp. (1974 PF Cert). Cat $45000, This example is extremely well-centred which makes it even more appealing for the very serious collector as it is notoriously known for being off-centered



Current bids at time of publishing article was of $24,000 US but this is expected to increase substiantially in the final days of the auction

In 1879 the ABN (American Bank Note) made a special printing (at request of, and under contract with the Government) of the issues of 1879. These stamps were printed on Soft,Porous paper with no gum. #192 to #204 make up this series. They were produced and sold primarily to collectors and in very small quantities (typically less than 500 of each issue were sold). Very few copies are known to exist

​

1889 7r black & yellow, horizontally laid paper, black color (frame) double, cancelled Moscow 25.V. 1890, well centered, very fine, with 2003 Mikulski certificate. One of only two (!) known examples of this major Imperial error (both cancelled in Moscow), ex-Mikulski and Denisenko collections (Liapine Cat. No. 51DD, where is has a catalogue value of €150,000; Scott's 54a)
The stamp has a presale estimate of $100,000

RUSSIA 1875 20k blue & orange, center double, canceled "Moscow, 1878", well centered and fresh, strongly defined colors, the orange center clearly struck twice! Identified as position 4, with minute perf. flaws at upper left, of no importance considering the unique character of this item, being the only known example of this error, unique, with 2003 Mikulski certificate ("eine grosse seltenheit bekannt nur in diesem, einzigem stuck"), ex-Mikulski and Denisenko collections (Liapine Cat. No.26DD

Newfoundland Inverted Balbo Surcharge​

​

1933 Balbo Flight, $4.50 on 75c bister, surcharge inverted (Scott C18a) well centered, never hinged and post office fresh, with 2002 BPA cert. The stamp was issued in connection with the return flight from Chicago to Rome by General Italo Balbo's squadron of Italian Seaplanes. 8,000 stamps were issued and four "Checkers" were appointed to ensure that no errors were sold (The "DO-X" Surcharge of 1923 produced 50+ inverted surcharges and efforts were made to avoid the same mistake) and several invert blocks were actually discovered and subsequently torn up (four of these "torn varieties" are known to have reached the market). Despite these added precautions, one intact inverted block of four did reach the public hands and was subsequently split into four singles, the copy offered here being position 1 of the setting. Of the four sound singles, only two are in never hinged condition. A major 20th Century and Air Post rarity, missing from even the most advanced collections (Unitrade C18a, CA$195,000+)
The stamp has a pre-sale estimate of $100,000

RUSSIA 1866 10k brown & blue, center inverted, tied on small piece by Poretschie, Goub. Grodno, 16 Jan 1875 cds, excellent color with clear center, fine, with 2003 Mikulski cert. There are ten recorded examples of this inverted center, only two cancelled in Poretschie (others in Kibarty and Kursk), most of the known copies are defective. A great rarity (Mi.21xK)

يوم امس دخلت مازاد في حديقه كبيره فيها اشياء متنوعه كثيره جدا
ومن ظمن هذه الاشياء صناديق فيها معايدات وكارتات قديمه حوالي الف كارت فيها صور قديمه
جاءو للمزاد طبعا كلهم اجانب الا انا عربي
انا حاولت شراء الساعات القديمه جدا
وبعض التماثيل اعتقد انها اثريه
وصندوق من الاحجار الغريبه
وبعض الانتيكات
وصندوق المعايدات لان شاهدت في خلف البعض منها طوابع مختلفه
ذات السنت الواحد الاخضر حوالي ثلاثة واربعين طابع
لشخصيات مختلفه


واللون الاحمر ذو السنتين حوالي عشر طوابع ذو 2 سنت


واللون البنفسجي اعتقد ذو الثلاث سنتتات 5 طابع
اثنان للرئيس الامريكي الثالث
واثنان لنصب الحريه
وواحد صورة نسر


ثلاثة طوابع 4 سنت
2 طابع واشنطن اورق غامق 5 سنت
واحد طابع العلم الامريكي 5 سنت

وهناك اخرى متنوعه------------
وكلها قديمه ومستعمله ومختومه وكان مجموعها حوالي سبعون طابع.
صارت قسمتي صندوق المعايدات والرسائل والي فيها الطوابع وبعض التحف
هل لا توجد لهذهِ الطوابع اي قيمه لانها مستعمله وغير جديده؟؟؟؟؟؟؟؟؟؟؟

عذرا لعدم عرض الصور لان الصور صعب الان تنزيلها قبل ايام نزلت صور لطابعين وواجهت صعوبه كبيره

ITALY 1863-65 40c rose carmine, London Printing, block of four, beautiful color and uncommonly well centered, unused with full original gum, h.r. at top, bottom right stamp never hinged, bottom left stamp with barest trace of a hinge, truly post office fresh and v.f., signed Diena, with 2008 "Grande Rarita" Raybaudi certificate "E'ben centrato e poiche trovasi tuttora in ottimo stato di conservazione" (Sass.L20; catalogue value is for "perfectly" centered singles, without consideration for the 60% premium for a block of four). A true gem from the Italian Kingdom,

Landing of Colombus

Landing of Columbus - the first ever bi-colored issue in the United States, and it was the first U.S. set of inverted errors


Scott Catalog #119. This 15 Cent stamp was issued in 1869 and depicts the landing of Columbus. It is a Superb "Gem" and used with a light black circle of "v's" cancel. Brilliant deep rich color and sharp impression. This stamp is perfectly centered with "jumbo" margins and comes with a PF Certificate
